Prelude Strings - Conductor: Andrea Talley
Mrs. Talley is the primary teacher/developer of the Suzuki strings program for Kindergarten and first grade students in the La Conner School District, and heads the violin program at Immaculate Conception Regional School in Mount Vernon. Andrea conducts the Prelude String Orchestra for the Everett Youth Symphony organization and works with public school orchestras in the Northshore school district. Mrs. Talley currently teaches at the Foothills Suzuki Institute in Issaquah and has private studios in Bothell and LaConner. This year she will co-direct a new Suzuki program with her husband at the Seattle Conservatory of Music.
Intermezzo Strings - Conductor: Cheryl Harris Cheryl Harris continues the success she began as the conductor of the Prelude Strings Orchestra and music librarian of the organization. She has received a Bachelor of Music from the University of Texas and a Master of Music from the University of Oregon after studying in Germany. Mrs. Harris taught orchestra in the public schools of Texas and has coached strings in the Edmonds and Mukilteo School Districts. She is the piano accompanist for choirs at Everett's Eisenhower Middle School. As a professional violist, Mrs. Harris performs regularly with the Everett Symphony Orchestra, Quartette Con Brio, Port Gardner Bay Chamber Orchestra, and Northwest Savoyard Orchestra.
Everett Junior Symphony - Brian Steves Brian Steves is starting his second season as director of the Junior Symphony. He has served as director of orchestras at Kamiak High School for 12 years. His award winning bands and orchestras have toured extensively in Europe and the United States. An oboist, he's a former member of the Tacoma Youth Symphony, the Everett Symphony, and Philharmonia Northwest. Mr. Steves has always been a big supporter of EYSO and has sent many excellent musicians to us from his groups at Kamiak. Mr. Steves earned a Bachelor of Arts in education from Pacific Lutheran University and a Master of Arts in music education from the University of Washington.
Everett Youth Symphony - Tam Osborne Tam Osborne is a graduate of the University of Washington where he holds degrees in Music (BM) and Music Education (BM ED.) He received his Masters of Education from Seattle Pacific University along with Administrative (Principal) credentials. Mr. Osborne taught music in the Shoreline School District for seven years before becoming a high school building administrator. He has, most recently, been the Administrator of Visual and Performing Arts in the Edmonds School District. Mr. Osborne has been selected twice to the board of the Washington Music Educators' Association (WMEA), once as a State String Curriculum Officer and once as the Administrative Representative. He has also been the Administrator on the Sno-King Music Educators' Association (SKMEA) Board. Tam Osborne has been affiliated with youth symphony organizations in the greater Seattle area for over 20 years and has guest-conducted orchestras in Idaho, Oregon and Alaska. He is a much sought after adjudicator and clinician throughout the Pacific Northwest.
